A short story about an evening in the life of a family with young kids – costumes, parties, and sarcasm all rolled into a flash fiction!
The family had a big night planned; the kids were attending a big school party out by the old smokestacks for Halloween and Clair and her husband Ed had graciously volunteered to help.

My honest review of the nonfiction account of one family’s Alaskan homesteading adventure – Coffee-Drunk or Blind by Elle Knowles, including (of course) the best quotes from the book.
My first thought when receiving this book was that I was probably not the target audience – I’m not incredibly outdoorsy, I hate being cold, I love modern conveniences, and I’ve never been that interested in moving to Alaska. But I opened it and started reading anyways – and I’m glad I did!

My review of ‘The Silent Sister’ by Diane Chamberlain, including the best quotes from the book. It was an excellent premise for a story, a lot of secrets.
