Here’s my honest review of the thriller / suspense novel The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, plus some of the best quotes from the book.
Ok, so this isn’t a new book – in fact, the movie has come and gone from theaters. But since this author has a new book coming out, I thought it would be fun to talk about her debut novel.
My honest review of the fiction, dog rescue inspired book ‘A Right to Live’ by Christine Duts including the best quotes from this cute book.
It’s an endearing little tale from the perspective of a down-on-her-luck dog, Rusty. The story starts out with Rusty being abandoned and continues to follow her through ups and downs, two litters of puppies, and a couple different owners…
My review of The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter including some of my favorite quotes from this gripping and suspenseful thriller.
If you read my earlier review of Karin Slaughter’s Pretty Girls, then you know I am a big fan of this author. She has an incredible way of developing her characters and giving them the perfect balance of charm and flaws – you just want more and more.
My review of the bestselling nonfiction book The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference by Malcolm Gladwell, plus some of the best quotes from the book.
I picked up The Tipping Point shortly after I read and fell in love with a different Gladwell book, Outliers. I had been so fascinated with that one that I figured all his others had to be equally as good. I wasn’t wrong.
My honest review of the suspensful, psychological thriller The Good Girl by Mary Kubica, plus the best quotes from the book. It’s a ‘Must Read’ for sure!
This book sat on my shelf for a pretty long time before I finally decided to read it. But once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down!
Well I can’t read ALL the time – I mean, people expect me to be social and whatnot… Other ways to fill my time? Movies and TV!
If you’re wondering what to watch next, here’s a taste of what I’ve been watching. Movies, TV shows, Netflix binges, etc.
My honest review of the nonfiction account of one family’s Alaskan homesteading adventure – Coffee-Drunk or Blind by Elle Knowles, including (of course) the best quotes from the book.
My first thought when receiving this book was that I was probably not the target audience – I’m not incredibly outdoorsy, I hate being cold, I love modern conveniences, and I’ve never been that interested in moving to Alaska. But I opened it and started reading anyways – and I’m glad I did!
My review of the fun, food-centered fiction novel ‘Delicious!’ by Ruth Reichl, including the best quotes from the book.
I found Delicious! in my local book store a while back. I was having a shopping spree day where I just looked at covers and found ones that appealed to me (yep – I was judging by the covers… but then reading the back and making an informed decision, of course).read more
My review of the non-fiction, self-improvement book Daring Greatly, by Brene Brown, including some of my favorite quotes from the book.
This book explores the idea that vulnerability is actually a good thing. And how embracing it can lead to a more positive and fulfilled life.read more
My review of the suspenseful novel “The City” by Dean Koontz, including some of the best quotes from the book.
I’ve read a lot of Koontz’ work and this one seemed a little different than his usual style.
