My Thoughts on the Book

This is a slightly different book review, friends. Maximize 365 is not the kind of book you’d want to pick up and read cover to cover as quickly as possible. instead, it’s meant for you to spend time on a chapter (topic) and work through the content at a slower, more thoughtful pace. It’s almost like a daily devotional, or a year-long planner with insights for thoughtful actions.

So because of the layout and the length of the book, I have not read the whole thing yet! But I didn’t want to wait for the end before telling you about it – especially with the start of the new year coming up. Because Maximize 365 (in my opinion) would be a really great Christmas/New Year gift for people! If I wasn’t already holding it, it would be the kind of book I would love to receive.

There are five main chapters: Health & Wellness; Spirituality; Relationships; Career; Finances. Each of those chapters has themed subcategories. Then broken down within those subcategories are daily entries including an inspirational quote, a brief story/information on the topic, and an idea for action. And while it is made up of 365 daily tips, there’s nothing forcing you to execute and implement it at the pace; you can move through however fast or slow you’d like. in fact – you don’t even have to read the book from front to back – you can use the rating scale provided to read the sections you need the most first.

I’m sure it won’t come as a surprise to hear – I really love that she incorporates other people’s quotes into the daily entries. Clearly – I love quotes. 🙂 But also, there’s a wealth of knowledge out in the world already – using other people’s amazing and insightful words just seems like an obvious complement to the writer’s own words.

Speaking of the writer’s own words, from what I’ve read so far the author’s writing seems simple, direct, and to the point.  There not unnecessary fluff or flower here, folks! I for one appreciate this but I know it may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Favorite Quotes (so far) From Maximize 365:

“When you control your attitude, it no longer controls you.”

“Developing a good sense of humor should be an essential life skill.”

“When you are secure and confident in your position is the time to capture success stories and update your job search materials without the high stakes pressure,”

“If you seek success by copying others, their paths are unlikely to work for you and your unique gifts.”

“We often associate fresh starts with moving to a new city, getting a divorce, and changing jobs – big events and major changes. What if you looked at the eight-hour period of sleep as a reboot? Every day can be a new beginning.”

In Conclusion

Again – this is a different review in that I haven’t actually finished the whole book. So I cannot provide a star ranking. But I can already fully declare that I would recommend this book to others! I have a few friends in mind for whom I may still pre-order this! I think it’s an excellent concept. And as someone who is constantly trying to improve themselves, I can tell you that this is the kind of book you want to help you do so.

Now, I was gifted an advanced copy of this book – for everyone else, you’ll have to pre-order it and receive it when it’s officially released. According to Amazon, the hardcover will be available on February 18th. Do yourself and the author a favor, though, and preorder now

This author has a few other books out including a new one for kids, You’ve Got Gifts.
