Hey there! First I just want to thank you so much for taking the time to check out this small corner of the internet that I call home.

My name is Malissa. I am an avid reader and an amateur writer. Like most Americans I tend to fill my time consuming – Netflix, movies, podcasts, and A LOT of books. And while I have loved taking in information and stories, I figured it was about time I started to share some of my own. And thus, Quotation Re:Marks was born. I use this website as a tool for expressing my creativity, a platform to share my writing, and a means to connect with other readers, writers, and lovers of quotes.

A little background about me: When I’m not binge watching Netflix TV shows or devouring a new book, I spend my time at the gym, on the river, or in the mountains. Oh and working… A girl’s gotta support her reading habit somehow.

As far as a day job goes, I recently found myself at a bit of a crossroads. I never thought that at thirty years old I would still be asking myself what I want to BE when I grow up. I mean… I’m up, aren’t I? Thirty is grown, right?   But no. I’m still not sure and I’m still trying to find something that will make me happy.

Another fun fact: I recently started participating in short story writing challenges! I found that when faced with a deadline, a word count, and a few required elements, my creativity really comes alive. (I’ve shared a few of those stories on this site if you’re interested.) I intend to keep participating in those until I’m ready to take the plunge and write something longer, like.. a book.

I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to a multitude of fun, interesting locations around the world including China, Australia, Turkey, and Greece. Those experiences are beyond precious to me and I am so grateful for the lessons those travels have taught me. My traveling days are definitely not over – I plan to go on many more adventures, though nothing is planned in the immediate future.

I’m currently living in Wyoming. I say currently because I’m not from here and I’m always open to change.  I have two dogs and a lovely boyfriend who all do a wonderful job in making my life whole while I’m on this journey of self discovery.

But in the wise words of George Bernard Shaw –

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
